Use QuizTime to Earn Free CME Credits
For Dr. Paul Gentuso, Chief Medical Officer of Heritage Medical Associates (HMA), earning free CME credits through QuizTime is a major benefit of VHAN membership. This simple and effective approach to earning CME eliminates the need for hours of reading, studying or test-taking. QuizTime reimagines the traditional CME experience and facilitates learning by using quiz questions as the content of a course.
Dr. Gentuso has found that QuizTime is a great way to get comprehensive research on subjects common to many patients, such as low back pain and diabetes.
“QuizTime revitalizes intellectual curiosity in physicians,” Gentuso says. “The price is right, and you’re also able to get worthwhile CME credits. The opioid course meets the two-year requirement for opioid prescribing, and the COVID-19 course made me feel much more equipped to navigate the pandemic.”
Currently, QuizTime offers VHAN members courses on opioid prescribing, COVID-19, and the content of VHAN Low Back Pain and Diabetes Care Paths. Once you enroll in a course, you will receive one question per weekday on a clinical scenario that should be familiar to you. Typically, you’re not required to review any materials prior to answering questions.
After answering each question, you will be provided with background information and an explanation for the answers. Some quizzes also have links to external sources that you may review for more in-depth learning. Many courses allow one extra opportunity to answer the question if you happen to provide the wrong answer on your first attempt. Most quizzes are designed so that they only require about 15 minutes per question per day.
Dr. Gentuso has recommended QuizTime to his HMA physician colleagues to help them complete their required CME.
“It’s delightful,” he says. “I love getting an email that gives me something new to think about for a few minutes—I recommend it to everyone.”
